David A. Hart, O.D.
Dr. David Hart, a native of Americus, graduated from Southland Academy with honors in 1982. Upon graduation, he attended Georgia Southwestern College where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor degree in Chemistry. Dr. Hart then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee from 1986 – 1990 where he received his doctoral degree. There, he was awarded for clinical excellence. Also at the Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Hart was a member of the Beta Kappa Honors Society as well as the Georgia Student Association. He completed internships at a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida and at Omni Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia, with a concentration on ocular disease.
Dr. Hart has been in private practice since 1990. In 1992, Dr. Hart opened his own practice to serve the Americus community. Hart Eye Care was opened in 1996. He is currently an active member of the Georgia Optometric Association.
Dr. Hart and his wife Christine have a daughter, Haley. Dr. Hart enjoys his time outside of the office by hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Christine - Optician/Owner
Christine has worked in the eye care field for over 25 years. She is a third-generation optician. Her father, Bob Ham, currently has a practice in Jacksonville, Florida, where Christine was born and raised. Christine moved to Americus in 1990, and she and Dr. Hart were married in 1992. They began their practice together soon afterward. Christine is an honorary member of the Junior Service League of Americus, where she worked primarily with the Methodist Girls Home. Christine and Dr. Hart have one daughter, Haley. Christine enjoys being outdoors, whether in her garden or at the beach. She also spends a lot of her time supporting Haley in her many sporting events.

Kassie, Receptionist
Kassie has been with Hart Eye Care for 9 years. She graduated from Americus High School in 2006. Kassie and her husband, Johnny, reside in Americus with their son, Tatyen. Kassie enjoys reading, football, baseball, and spending time with her husband and son.

Sherry - Office Manager
Sherry has worked at Hart Eye Care for 16 years. An Americus native, Sherry attended Sumter County High School and graduated in 1996. Sherry is married to Rick and has three children, Brittany, Clay, and Hollie, all of whom attended Schley County. While Sherry isn’t working, she likes being outdoors with her horses and spending time with her children and her husband.

Daffney - Technician
Daffney graduated from South GA Tech in 2011 with her LPN Degree. She is married to Chris and has two daughters Dalanie and Dalana. Daffney enjoys spending time with family and friends.
